Having four children of my own, I know how fast they grow!

They begin to develop their own unique personalities from the very first day they arrive.

This is why I love photographing newborns so I can capture those beautiful little features for you to treasure throughout the years.

FAQ

When should I schedule for my birth?

As soon as possible, at this time I only take 1 birth per month. To be sure I am available, it is important to schedule as soon as you have your due date.

How far will you travel for births?

I photograph births in Summit and Stark County.

The farther away you are the more important it is to keep me updated on ANY changes as your due date approaches.

Can I meet you before booking?

Absolutely! I would love to meet for lunch, get to know you, and talk in person about any questions or concerns you have.

What is "On-Call"?

As your due date approaches, I will be sure I am available by going on-call.

This means my phone will be on me at all times and I will not travel distant.

I will be checking on you after your weekly appointments to get updates so I can be as prepared as possible.

I will give you my personal cell number and you are to contact me at anytime 24/7 when labor starts.

Do I need approval from my doctor/hospital?

Yes, before you schedule me you need to talk to your doctor to be 100% sure they will allow me to photograph during delivery.

I will stay out of their way, and most doctors are coming around to birth photography as its becoming more common.

What if I have/am having a c-section?

No matter how your birth takes place, I am available to tell your birth story.

Please get permission from your OB or midwife.

What if I don't want my images shared on your website?

Some feel as though birth is a private, intimate thing and only want photos for themselves and I completely understand that. Your photos will not be shared online if you request. However, I do hope that you'll consider allowing me to share your photos for other moms considering birth photography to see and be inspired by. You can also request that specific photos not be shared.

What if I go into labor when you have another session?

All clients who are scheduled near your due date will be notified in advance that I am on call for a birth. 99.9% of the time, clients are very understanding if I let them know my client is in labor and we will reschedule.

What kind of photos can I expect during delivery?

While I believe birth is a beautiful natural thing, I can assure you that I am a modest birth photographer. I do not take or deliver photos that show any private parts of mom or baby (unless requested by you). I am typically positioned on either side of you during birth to ensure no photos you would not approve of are even taken. Nursing photos are often taken, but taken modestly. We can discuss this further if you have any concerns.

What if we want a quiet, personal birth with no distractions?

I can be as quiet or sociable as you want me to be. I can be a fly on the wall (other than the clicking camera sound) or we can be social and talk throughout the day!

During the actual birth, I will remain quiet and stay out of the way while shooting.

If any of this is a concern, please let me know!

What if my birth takes a long time?

Then I am at the hospital for a long time! :) I plan to be there when you are around 5-6 cm dilated, and I do not leave until 1-1.5 hours after delivery!

In the package it states 4 hours, but that is a rough estimate. Every mother labors differently.

Black & White or color photos?

As I said before, I am a modest birth photographer and due to the sometimes graphic nature of birth photography, I prefer my work in black & white.

I will also include color photos, but I find black & white images help you really focus on the emotion & love in the photos and that's important to me.

What does birth photography cost?

Just like family & wedding photography, birth photography should be viewed as an investment, and an investment that is worth every cent!

Listed above are three beautiful options to choose from: The Birth Story, The First Chapter, & Labor of Love.

Do you offer payment plans?

YES, I do offer payment plans for birth stories.

There is an initial fee due upfront, a nonrefundable retainer of 20%.

Your total is to be paid in full by 2 weeks prior to your due date. We can discuss payment options further and find a plan that works for you.
